Under Here We Grow, Heritage will work with third party agencies and members of community to equip households within our fenceline to grow what they eat and also to train and assist persons, in making their farming initiatives economically viable.
Here We Grow
Seedling Distribution Programme
The sustainability of food supply has been a significant factor in our government’s agenda. Heritage has incorporated into its corporate social responsibility an agricultural program ‘Here We Grow’, which has thus far, provided seedlings and food to households in our fenceline communities.
Agri-preneur Training & Capacity Development Programme
The training and capacity development components of the Here We Grow programme were devised to channel young residents into the agricultural sector and create opportunities for them to understand that the industry can be a viable employment option. The training and capacity development component will focus on community members between the ages of 18 to 35 years old, who demonstrate a keen interest in agriculture and agribusiness, and reside within Heritage’s operating communities.
